Which core does the IBCP involve?
Personal and professional skills: This focuses on developing students’ attitudes and interpersonal skills in readiness for the workplace.
Service learning: A research-based module where students apply what they’ve learnt to a community need.
Reflective project: An in-depth piece of work to help students analyse and relfect their career-based learning. They base this around identifying and analysing an ethical issue which has arisen during the course.
Language development: This module demands that students develop their communication skills in a second language. This is in-keeping with the IB’s international status.

What are the options after the IBCP?
As a result of the IBCP programme, graduates have found that universities and higher education institutions value the skills, experience and qualifications gained during the course. At the same time, the international outlook and vocational teaching give students a portfolio of relevant skills which they can continue to grow.
In keeping with the aims of the course, most graduates of the IBCP go on to continue in an area that they were exposed to (and inspired by) during their studies.
IBCP Assessment
The Certificate of the Career-related Programme of the International Baccalaureate will be awarded subject to satisfactory completion of the following requirements by a candidate:
- The candidate has completed the specified career-related study.
- The candidate has been awarded a grade 3 or more in at least two of the Diploma Programme Courses registered for the Career-related Programme.
- The candidate has been awarded a grade of at least D for the Reflective Project.
- Personal and Professional Skills, Service Learning and Language Development requirements have been met.
- The candidate has not received a penalty for academic misconduct.

Why IBCP?
IBCP Scholarships
Students who show exceptional entrepreneurial skills in his/her field of Career Related Studies will be eligible for a scholarship of 50% deduction in the annual academic fees in the Career-related Programme. This applies to both the years of the Career-related Programme, However, the student will have to first secure admission to get the scholarship.
