Hello everyone, I’m Kinnari Shah, Principal at D Y Patil International School, Worli. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back all our wonderful students and teachers to the school. I do wish this could be in person, back on the beautiful grounds of the school, but under the new circumstances, online it is. I hope you have all had a restful break and are ready now to take the new term on.

All of you are part of an institution that is distinctive in both academics and co-curricular activities, but, you are also part of an institution that believes in not just churning out good grades, but creating leaders of tomorrow.

Leaders of tomorrow are built today, and true leaders are those who persevere in difficult times, in uncertain times. Uncertain times, such as these we today live in. We know home learning has its own challenges. We miss having you here in the school too. But if we persevere by showing up for our online classes, paying attention, participating and working hard, we too are, individually, getting stronger, more resilient and more immune to the many vagaries of ‘real life.’ By doing what you are, you too are contributing to the larger society, keeping us all safe, in your own way. So thank you for that, and let’s keep at it!

For parents who need any additional support to help children navigate the home learning experience, we are here to help. Taking on all the concerns parents have raised about Home Learning due to the pandemic, we at DYPIS have consulted education experts to create a Home Learning Kit for kids in Playgroup & Nursery. Created by education experts, the DYPIS Home Learning Kit is a comprehensive kit designed for the best home learning experience. It has creative and thoughtfully crafted activities that make learning fun and meaningful. Get in touch with us to get your Kit.

Also in case you missed it, we hosted a fantastic webinar last year with industry experts from psychologists to educationalists, who shared some very useful views on how we can help our children cope with new routines and minimise the impact of screen-based learning. If you haven’t watched it, please do so. It is still available on our Facebook page.

Coming back to what we can expect this NEW term!

The teachers have been all working hard at building and improving your learning experience.  We have also planned some exciting new events and activities online.

On Republic Day next week, we have a host of amazing activities planned for each class. From cooking and quizzes to debates and speaker sessions, we’ve got an action-packed day for you to evoke all the patriotism this day calls for.

We also have a series of fantastic Webinars lined up this term, kicking things off on Sunday with a session discussing the benefits of the IB curriculum. Sign up link on our social media pages!

We are also putting together a series of Workshops that will be conducted for students across grades – EYP | PYP | Grades 6 to 8 | Grades 9 to 12 at a nominal fee.

Also on the cards, a Virtual Career Day. The extreme uncertainties brought about by the pandemic, coupled with the rapid advancement of technology will reshape the way we work. With job profiles changing quite rapidly in this dynamic work environment and new avenues opening every day, students need to be exposed to a wider world. The goal for the Virtual Career Day is to introduce students to career options across various industries in a practical setting.

So stay tuned for all this and more. I will also be starting a monthly assembly to communicate with you all and shout out about all the wonderful achievements we are working towards.  Do follow us on our Instagram and Facebook channels to be part of the larger DYPIS community online. Meanwhile I want to wish everyone all the best – you have done us proud and know you will continue to do so. Have a lovely term!

Thank you,
Ms Kinnari Shah
