D Y Patil International School Celebrated a Virtual Literacy week for grades across EYP to Grade 12

EYP started with ‘Magical Monday’ the students dressed up as their favourite characters. On ‘Twisting Tuesday’, they heard a story twisted by changing the character or giving an alternate ending of the story. On ‘Witchy Wednesday’ the learners decorated their witch and went globe-trotting learning different salutations around the world. Finally, on ‘Thrilling Thursday’ we celebrated Hindi Diwas where the Hindi teacher taught the learners rhymes in Hindi and the learners introduced themselves in Hindi and also performed a show and tell in Hindi.

PYP learners were allowed to display their creative thinking skills, literary skills, and also social skills through a multitude of activities conducted throughout the week. Grades 1 and 2 celebrated with their peers and participated in fun activities, while Grades 3 to 5 ended the literary week celebration with a pajama party with fun activities to emerge as better communicators.

Grades 6 to 12 started with the lingering excitement of the Tokyo Olympics; this year’s theme was ‘The Olympics of Language’. Learners participated in activities such as ‘anagrams, book-cover designing, poster making, caption writing and crossword ‘poem writing, caption writing, pamphlet making.
