In a stimulating critical thinking session, IBCP students at DYPIS delved into the ongoing debate on the impact of laptop note-taking on learning. As technology continues to shape modern education, this discussion encouraged students to analyze whether laptops enhance or hinder academic performance.

Students engaged with three contemporary research studies exploring this question. Each study was assessed using five key criteria, with a ranking scale from 1 to 5 to evaluate its strengths and limitations. This structured approach helped students develop a nuanced understanding of research methodology and scientific inquiry.

Beyond ranking the studies, students engaged in thoughtful discussions, questioning assumptions, analyzing data objectively, and considering multiple perspectives. The exercise not only refined their ability to critically assess research but also underscored the real-world implications of technology in classrooms.

By the end of the session, students selected the most compelling study based on their evaluations, reinforcing the importance of evidence-based reasoning. As technology continues to evolve, such activities equip students with essential analytical skills, empowering them to navigate an information-driven world with confidence and discernment.
